🔠 Adobe Illustrator Provides New Updates to “Retype” Tool, Font Formatting, and More

In Adobe Illustrator, you can now format your text using keyboard shortcuts (like you can in a word document)!
This means you can now apply bold and italic styles to your fonts and underline without moving your mouse.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Shortcuts | Windows | MacOS |
---|---|---|
Bold | Shift + Ctrl + B | Shift + Command + B |
Italic | Shift + Ctrl + I | Shift + Command + I |
Underline | Shift + Ctrl + U | Shift + Command + U |
In addition to this, Adobe Illustrator introduced a new update to the “Retype” tool.
For those who don’t know, the “Retype” tool allows you to turn any rasterized (un-editable) text in an image into live (editable) text directly in Adobe Illustrator.

Retype Tool
The tool now has two distinct settings: Match Font and Edit Text.
Match Font: Automatically identifies any text within an image and provides matching fonts (via Adobe Fonts)
Edit Text: This lets you edit the text within images after selecting a matching font.
The Retype tool will show you ten matching (or similar) fonts, ordered by similarity to the original selected font.

You can access to via Type > Retype > Match Font in the Adobe Illustrator menu.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
💻 Introducing “Adjustment” Presets in Photoshop, Turn Anything into a Preset

Turning a “Vibrance” adjustment into a preset
In Photoshop, you can now save an adjustment (e.g., Vibrance, Hue/Saturation, Levels) or group of adjustments as a custom Adjustment Preset for future use.
Imagine photo filters and presets… but for Photoshop.
With this new feature release, you’re also able to:
Export a single Adjustment Preset
Export all custom Adjustment Presets
Import an Adjustment Preset
This is superrrr helpful if you want to save time making the same adjustments, want to share presets with friends, or have an audience and want to sell your presets (like people sell Lightroom presets!).
