TOP STORY
📦️ Illustrator releases “Generate Vectors”

This week, Adobe released a new version of Illustrator, which is now powered by the latest Adobe Firefly Vector Model.

This new update enables users to generate and modify vectors, shapes, patterns, and graphics with natural language prompts.

A vector is a graphic made of mathematical paths (points, lines, curves) that scales infinitely without losing quality, unlike a normal image (raster), which is a fixed grid of pixels that gets blurry when enlarged.

Here’s what was released 👇️

1) Generative Shape Fill 🪣

Generative Shape Fill allows you to fill shapes with detailed, customizable vector graphics tailored to their style.

You can later adjust the shape strength, detail, colors, or reference styles from existing artwork, with editable outputs that scale without quality loss.

2) Text-to-Pattern 🔁

Describe a pattern, like “floral geometric grid,” to generate multiple variations, with sample prompts for inspiration.

You can also specify colors, adjust density, or apply effects, saving patterns as swatches for future use.

3) Text-to-Vector Graphic 🖼️

Text to Vector Graphic is a new feature that enables the rapid creation of detailed, editable vector graphics from text prompts.

With this new feature, you can generate scenes, subjects, or icons, like “futuristic cityscape” or “flat-style avocado icon,” with multiple variations.

Plus, you can choose variations of the vector generations via the Properties panel, refine them with Illustrator tools, and manage linked variations for iterative design, with detail and style adjustments.

🔥 Figma releases “Code Layers”

Adding text animations to a website

Figma announced a new “Code Layers” feature (which is set to launch soon for Figma Sites) that allows designers and developers to add dynamic animations and interactive elements to their sites with custom code.

Adding an interactive drawing element to a website

With Code Layers, you can now:

  • Integrate with Figma Make: Pair with Figma Make’s AI prompt-to-code feature to generate animations or interactions from text prompts, like “add a hover effect to this button,” for rapid prototyping.

  • Embed custom code: Attach JavaScript, CSS, or HTML to specific layers to create inline animations, interactive buttons, or dynamic effects, all within Figma’s canvas.

  • Preview interactions live: Test code-driven animations and interactions in real-time, ensuring seamless integration with Figma Sites’ responsive templates and breakpoints.

Code Layers is set to roll out to Figma Sites (beta) users on Organization and Enterprise plans, with potential availability for Professional plans.

This week, ElevenLabs released the “SB-1 Infinite Soundboard,” a tool that lets users generate any sound effect from text prompts.

This free tool is perfect for live streamers, podcasters, and gamers, offering unlimited creativity without relying on pre-existing MP3 libraries.

With the SB-1 Infinite Soundboard, you can:

  • Generate custom sound effects: Describe any sound, like “rain hitting a tent roof” or “space explosion,” and the AI model produces multiple variations for selection, all from scratch.

  • Create and save presets: Start with four presets (Ambient, Drum Machine, Movie Sounds, and Animal Signs) and build custom ones, like a video game preset with “High Score” announcements or empty slot sounds.

  • Integrate with live streaming & podcasts: Drop generated sounds into the soundboard for real-time triggers, loop effects for ambient backgrounds, or use as a drum machine for interactive shows.

  • Share and collaborate: Save and share presets directly to social media.

The tool is available for free, but an ElevenLabs account is required for saving and sharing.
