TOP STORY
🎉 Canva releases “Visual Studio 2.0”

You can now create across every design type without switching between different tabs and tools.

This week, Canva hosted its annual “Canva Create” 2025 event (its largest to date) and announced “Visual Suite 2.0.”

Visual Studio 2.0 is Canva’s attempt at creating an AI-powered, all-in-one platform allowing users to create diverse content, including documents, presentations, videos, whiteboards, websites, and more —all within a unified design format called "One Design.”

Here’s everything new in Visual Studio 2.0 👇️

Canva AI 🤖

Canva AI is a new tool that helps you turn ideas into designs quickly with simple instructions—like typing, speaking, or uploading media.

It creates things like presentations or social media posts and lets you tweak them with your brand styles or team input.

Canva Code 💻️

Building a customer calendar app

Canva Code enables users to make interactive creations, like games or calculators, just by describing what they want.

No coding skills are needed, and you can share or add your creation to other Canva projects, like websites or slideshows.

NEW Photo Editor 🖼️

The new “Background Generator” tool

The Visual Suite now includes a Photo Editor, letting you edit images directly in Canva without switching tools.

With the new “Background Generator,” you can instantly change a photo’s background to match any scene, mood, or lighting for a polished look.

You can also point and click on any part of an image to move, replace, remove, recolor, or resize it, giving you easy control to customize your photos.

Magic Charts 📊

Magic Charts simplifies data visualization by connecting live data from tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, and Snowflake.

It transforms this data into beautiful, interactive charts and infographics with ease.

Just pick your data, and Magic Charts suggests the best chart types for you.

Canva Spreadsheets #️⃣

Canva Sheets is a new, creative twist on spreadsheets, designed to make working with data easier and more visual.

Unlike traditional spreadsheets, it integrates with Canva’s Visual Suite to help you create charts, forms, reports, dashboards, and infographics seamlessly.

GRAPHIC DESIGN
⚡️ Photoshop teases “AI Workflows”

Early this week, Howard Pinsky (a Principal Design Evangelist at Adobe) shared a preview of a new Photoshop feature that uses smart suggestions and simple text commands to make editing easier.

In the example, users would be able to choose from “Creative Ideas” that are based on the context of an image.

For example, “auto brighten,” “remove people,” and “bokeh blur.”

Additionally, users would be able to describe a change they want to make to a photo (e.g., replace the sky with a colorful sunset), and Photoshop would make adjustments for them.

In the example, users would be able to choose from several different variations 👇️
