🤯 LottieLab releases “Magic Animator”

This week, LottieLab released "Magic Animator," the first AI tool that generates fully editable animations directly from Figma designs in just one click.
Unlike other AI animation tools that create static videos, Magic Animator generates actual keyframes, layers, motion curves, and timeline data that designers can continue to edit and refine.

With Magic Animator, you can now:
Generate motion instantly: Convert any Figma design into animated content without writing prompts — the AI understands design structure and hierarchy automatically.
Export everywhere: Output animations as MP4 (up to 4K), GIF, Lottie files, or other formats for websites, apps, social media, and ads.
Edit and refine: Use the full-featured motion editor to adjust timing, curves, and keyframes, or use the AI-generated animations as-is.
Scale creative workflows: What previously would take 6+ hours of manual animation work now takes about 30 minutes, letting teams focus on creative intent rather than technical execution.
Magic Animator is currently in beta and available as a Figma plugin.
Early adopters at Netflix, Google, and Omnicom are already using it to streamline their UI and content workflows.

💎 Spline releases “3D” and “Liquid Glass”

This week, Spline releases "3D" and "Liquid Glass" capabilities in Hana, its new canvas for interactive design.
These updates position Spline as a serious competitor to traditional 3D design tools, making immersive web experiences more accessible to designers without complex 3D software knowledge.
What is Hana? Hana is Spline's new interactive design canvas built from scratch for creating real-time 2D experiences that are production-ready by default.

With these new features, you can now:
Transform any layer into 3D: Convert existing 2D designs into three-dimensional objects by simply toggling the 3D parameter, eliminating the need to rebuild layouts from scratch.
Create portal effects: Use 3D Frames as “portals” that contain full interactive spaces while clipping content and maintaining depth.
Maintain responsive layouts: Combine 3D objects with Liquid Glass effects while preserving layout compatibility, ensuring designs work across different screen sizes and devices.
You can play with a live demo of these features in action, and can control the amount of distortion, chromatic aberration, and depth to create stunning visual effects using the new updates.
Also included in this update: Hana is now ~2x faster on large scenes, making complex 3D designs more manageable.

WEB DESIGN
🚀 Webflow releases “Webflow Interactions”

This week, Webflow released the newest version of "Webflow Interactions," a major update that brings GSAP-powered motion directly into Webflow's visual editor.
This follows Webflow's acquisition of GSAP last fall and their decision to make GSAP completely free for the entire web community.
GSAP (GreenSock Animation Platform) is a JavaScript library that's considered the gold standard for web animations.
It's used by major brands like Google, Netflix, and Adobe to create smooth, high-performance animations that work consistently across all browsers and devices.

What this unlocks for designers:
Advanced animation capabilities: Build complex effects like SplitText (animate individual characters, words, or lines), staggers (sequential animations across element groups), and ScrollTrigger (scroll-controlled dynamic experiences), all visually.
Professional timeline interface: A completely redesigned horizontal timeline with intuitive controls for sequencing, timing precision, and easy drag-and-resize functionality that mirrors industry-standard motion design tools.
Reusable interactions: Create animations once and apply them across your entire site, plus save custom animation presets for consistent brand experiences.
Performance-first approach: All animations are powered by GSAP's optimized code, ensuring smooth, reliable performance across devices.
The feature is rolling out now at no additional cost and will be available to all Webflow users by the end of July.
Webflow has also teased upcoming additions, including accessibility features for reduced motion preferences, deeper design system integration, and support for additional GSAP plugins like ScrambleText and ScrollSmoother.
