🎬 Runway releases “Aleph” video inpainting tool

This week, Runway released "Aleph," a new video tool that transforms how creators edit and manipulate existing footage.
Unlike traditional AI video tools that generate content from scratch, Aleph focuses on enhancing and transforming existing, real footage through simple text prompts.
Runway is gradually rolling out access to Runway Aleph.

With Aleph, you can now:
Generate new camera angles: Create reverse shots, close-ups, and cutaways from a single master shot, maintaining scene consistency while providing "endless coverage" from limited source material.
Transform objects and environments: Change a basketball into lava, swap harsh noon lighting for golden hour, or completely alter weather conditions and seasons within existing footage.
Remove unwanted elements: Easily eliminate reflections, distracting objects, or background elements that would traditionally require complex VFX work.
Apply style transfers: Transform any footage with your desired aesthetic, from cinematic looks to artistic styles, all through natural language descriptions.
Extend scenes seamlessly: Generate smooth continuations of your story by creating the next logical shot in your sequence.
Add elements with proper integration: Insert crowds, products, or props that automatically match the lighting and perspective of the original scene.
Early access is currently rolling out to Enterprise and Creative Partners, with broader availability coming soon to all users.
The tool processes most edits within 2-5 minutes, with more complex transformations taking up to 15 minutes.

🤖 Figma releases “Figma AI” out of beta

This week, Figma announced that all "Figma AI" features (including Figma Make) are officially out of beta and available across all paid plans, marking a massive shift from experimental tools to core platform capabilities.
The creative suite now includes everything from prompt-to-prototype generation to automated design tasks, fundamentally changing how designers work with content, layouts, and collaboration across teams.

Here's what's now available in general availability:
Make: Transform text prompts into interactive, high-fidelity prototypes without coding experience.
Code Layers: Add custom animations and interactions directly in Figma Sites with JavaScript, CSS, or HTML.
Make/Edit Image: Generate new images or customize existing ones using OpenAI and Google Gemini models.
Remove Background: Eliminate image backgrounds in one click without manual editing.
Boost Resolution: Enhance image quality and clarity automatically.
Rename Layers: Contextually organize and rename all layers with a single click.
Rewrite Text: Adjust copy length, tone, or translate content directly within designs.
The move to general availability comes with a new AI credits system across all seat types.
Full seat users get 3,000-4,250 monthly credits (roughly 50-100 Make prompts), while Starter plans and other seat types receive lower monthly limits.
Publishing capabilities for Make remain in beta, but all other AI features are fully production-ready across Figma's design ecosystem.

📸 Magnific releases “Precision” upscaler

This week, Magnific AI released "Precision," a new non-creative upscaling model designed specifically for photographers and professionals who need more resolution without any unwanted compositional changes.
Unlike other AI upscalers that "hallucinate" new details, Precision focuses purely on enhancing existing image quality while maintaining absolute fidelity to the original composition, making it perfect for professional photography and commercial work.

Precision addresses a critical gap in the AI upscaling market by offering what the team calls a "boring" upscaler — one that prioritizes control and consistency over creative interpretation.
Faithful upscaling: Increases resolution and detail without altering the original image composition or adding unexpected elements
JPEG artifact removal: Eliminates compression artifacts while enhancing image clarity and focus
Ultra Detail control: Adjustable slider lets users control the level of focus enhancement, from subtle improvements to super-focused effects

It works with text too!
The tool is now available both on Magnific AI's platform and integrated directly into the Freepik AI Suite, making it accessible to users across different creative workflows and subscription plans.
Magnific's founder teased that 4x, 8x, and 16x upscaling options are coming next, followed by an undisclosed feature that promises to push the boundaries of image enhancement even further.
